Meeting 9 July 2016



Introduction

This, the 82nd meeting of the London Youlan Qin Society, was held in Asia House, London.

This was a special gathering held at Asia House as part of the closing ceremony for the Buddhism Festival. Guest speaker Dr Liang Jiyong gave a very interesting talk on the life and qin activity of the Qing Dynasty Manchurian Prince Aisin Gioro Pu Xuezhai 愛新覺羅 溥雪齋 (1893-1966). Pu Xuezhai taught Dr Liang's own teacher, Jiang Kangsheng 姜抗生. Dr Liang also brought a Qing Dynasty qin made in 1860, which several people played.

  7. Meihua San Nong 梅花三弄 (Three Variations on the Plum Blossom), played by Cheng Yu
  8. Yu Qiao Wen Da 鱼樵问答 (Dialogue Between the Fisherman and the Woodcutter), played by Charles Tsua
  9. Shen Ren Chang 神人畅 (Harmony of Gods and Men), played by Cheng Yu
  10. Guanshan Yue 关山月 (Mon over the Mountain Pass), played by Charles Tsua
  11. Shuang He Ting Quan 双鹤听泉 (A Pair of Cranes Listening to the Spring), played by Dr Liang Jiyong
