Introduction

This, the 79th meeting of the London Youlan Qin Society, was held in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

Many members renewed their annual subscriptions, which became due on 1st January.

Summary of the AGM

The fifth AGM of the Sociey was held during this meeting.

2015 was a challenging but fruitful year. We successfully organised our Guqin Summer School at the newly opened China Exchange in London's Chinatown, taught by Dr Cheng Yu and Charles Tsua. This included a concert for the summer school. The concert was performed to a full house by members of LYQS, Dr Cheng Yu and guest musicians. We held one yaji meeting in the garden at the home of our Treasurer and another at the home of Cheng Yu. At the latter we we joined by three distinguishgd guests from China, qin maker Hong Qingyan, and qin players Chen Cheng and Xu Hanzhi. The society has a sizeable library of books which members can borrow.
