This, the 19th meetingof theLondon Youlan Qin
Society, was held at the home of Sarah Moyse in southwest
London.
Introduction
This was a regular, informal meeting. As always, we began with informal
conversations and fine food many of us had brought to share.
Programme
Cheng Yu began the proceedings
and welcomed several new
people, including composer Basil Athanasiadis and qin player Guan Zhenning. This
time we had a couple of classical guitar pieces, in addition to qin.

Pei Lan 佩兰 (Admiring the

on
a
performance recorded
by
the Taiwan qin player Liao
Qiuzhen 廖秋蓁.
This version uses the same melody, but substitutes lyrics from three
Tang Dynasty poems by Liu Yuxi 刘禹锡 (772-842),
of which Tingting selected two.
